Everyone is called to be a different part of the body. Everyone SHOULD serve their purpose in their own generation.
I believe God is calling his people out ...out...out...into the highways and byways. The externally focused church. The market place church. The called out ones who permeate society.
This is not a new idea. But now it has gripped my heart!
The gospel is both salvation and social transformation. Not one without the other.
- Salvation without any change in the other aspects of life is hollow. It is proclaiming a power that is not lived out.
- Social transformation without God's salvation will end up like communism. Good intentions that blow up in your face, for there is no internal change.
The salvation of the lost and the transformation of society through the mountains or pillars of culture!Media, Religion, Family, Government, Entertainment, Education, Business, Science...
I want to see it happen!Amen!

Often a lot of Christian leaders will try to peddle a "social gospel", i.e., how the church exists to make life on Earth better. But at times I honestly have to ask how does Christ fit into this? What's the point of creating a utopia on Earth if people will only live out their lives and die without Christ?
I thought about how during the 20th century, we saw two major social theories at each other's throats. The Soviet Union was essentially built upon a humanistic view of human autonomy, yet underneath the vastness of it was dehumanizing tyranny.
The USA's government was designed so that the necessary powers (economy, politics, church/religion) would function as separate yet complimentary. The economy would prosper in such a way that those who make it to the top do so because they put the hard work into it. Politics would be in the hands of democratically elected representatives. The church would be free to grow on it's own and be salt and light under divine guidance without the possibility of corruption from the other powers. All of this would be under an accepted belief in "one nation under God."
Yet why is it that the world today is so vulnerable in all sectors? Because God is no longer the center of the society, hence it crumbles.
