Speak

God's calling has always been to do with this tongue and mouth of mine...haha...speak. witness. encourage. declare. impart. sing. speak. speak. speak. Ever since I was 17. I think, for a long time now, I have not dared to speak. Speak TRUTH with LOVE and GRACE, just as the prophet from Down Under said 5 years ago. More often than not, I have been tongue-tied. I have not spoken the truth. I have not spoken in love. Bitterness and despair would be more like it. However, God is good. When God says something he will carry it out. For a long time, I thought speaking truth and witnessing meant the gospel to the lost. Yes it does. But it means a lot more. It means the powerful truth in every situation, it means love exuded and grace abundantly sowed. How difficult it is to not be afraid. I still hyperventilate sometimes when I need to do it. But God is good. Speak Break the chains of the captives Bring light to the blurry places Speak There is so much to give There are so many hopeless fa...

What God Spoke Today

I decided to sit down extra long today to listen to God, after venting my issues to Him yesterday at 2am in the morning for about an hour. This is part of what He said: The things of the kingdom are worth waiting for. They are worth dying for. They are worth toiling for.

Peggy, my dear friend

Yes. This post is about Peggy Chan. Or Mary-anne, her old name. HAHA. Or Chan Pui Kei. Anyway, she's this girl who looks like a malaysian but she's from HK. She's been my covenant friend for more than a year, and my good friend for almost 2 years, my friend for 3 years, and my aquaintance for 4 years. Peggy and I were not friends at first sight. We're mutually not attracted to each other's personalities. To me she looked shy and rather boring. To her I looked like the 'mean' popular girls in her high school. HEHE. That is absolutely classic to hear. But in Daniel 5, we started to hang out a bit more, being the core girl JG's in Daniel 5. And during a difficult period in the end of 2005, she was my hang out companion for most of December. I would work in my stressful telemarketing job from 9am-1pm, and then got to the city to wait for Peggy to finish work, and eat lunch. Then, we would go watch movies or chat. Almost EVERYDAY. Of course, Alvin, Daniel Loo,...

An old post of mine that has struck my heart

Getting what u want isn't always cool Aug 25, 2006 3:30 PM You know.I've prayed a long time for various gifts, for various job opportunities and for success. For people. For a lot of things. I wonder if it's sometimes good to get what you want. Maybe you can't handle it. I've prayed for a certain number of students and hours at work quickly, and I got it. I've prayed for certain spiritual gifts for 2 years. i'm actually gettin them and growing them.i've prayed for gigs once a week that bring in some cash. I've prayed to be able tor ecord and use my talents and abilities.I'm actually gettiung them, double fold now.Much more than what i wantor ask for even. I've prayed for many things. And i'm seeing answers to many of them. These are all good things. And i'm thoroughly grateful to God. But i wonder, right now, can i actually handle what i'm asking for? Is that why God held it back so long? Perhaps he knew the real desires of my hear...

Long Busy Day - Life of Balance

I think one of the hardest things in life is achieving godly balance. So many people in the world or in Christian ministry are imbalanced. People of the world work 12 hour days for money and fame. Christian ministers often do the same to the detriment of their health and families. It's really sad to hear of many full time ministers who love God and are so sold out for the kingdom, yet neglected thier spouses, children, or shortened their lives by never resting or finding a hobby. In my personal experience, I have a tendency to overbusy myself and work far too hard. Well, in the past 4 years anyway. When I was younger, I was more laidback, careless, Sanguine...Things change. I think right now, it would be safe to call myself fairly driven, quite ambitious [not in worldly monetary way], and NOT laidback. I think I've pushed myself quite hard to be the best I can be. I'm grateful that I tried, at least.I do want to fulfill my potential in Christ. That takes disci...

My Rest Day

Friday is a day of rest from uni and work from me, unless Farai or Minh decide to want to have their lessons today. A girl from NZ, called Mandy came over today. She's a singer from the Con as well and writes very lovely originals. She was looking for a pianist to record her originals with. Now, I shall go into a bit of my piano skills. I'm a good church pianist[contemporary], I'm a good pop pianist[because I'm sensitive and delicate, as well as quite groovy], I'm a reasonable jazz pianist[Not really a full on one. Too unskilled in the voicings and rhythm aread], I'm a rusty classical pianist[trying to get back into it]. So she wanted pop. I thought, I'm good at recording usually, both piano and voice. So I decided to help her out. She seemed quite happy with what I could play for her songs. Hopefully she will be a divine appointment. Her style is not too different from mine, writing wise, and she wants to open her own studio next time and hire teachers at a...

5 Loaves and 2 Fish

I have been progressing slowly with my Matthew connect journal. Yesterday, the passage was on the well-known fish and bread story. [Coincidentally, Yee yee and Daniel Loo cooked me a very healthy potato and fish dinner yesterday. Thanks for the hospitality my favourite hang-out-to-eat buddies]. Well, I did pray to get a fresh revelation out of the story, not the one heard 1000 times before since I was a baby. And in that 20 minutes, God spoke very gently about every situation I was facing now. The seeming lack. The multitude of needs. The 10,000 faces you don't want to see because you think what you have is not enough. The financial struggles. The hard, laboursome mission in GU. The uncertainties and lack of skills I need to go anywhere in the music business, or live out the vision God has placed in my heart for a long time. God just said," You're exactly where you need to be at. It is not a mistake. I don't make mistakes ." N...

Charismatic?

Well, I remember how I used to call myself cutee4eva when I was in high school, or rather that was my online nickname. I got slammed hard by different girls for that. “Perasan”, or arrogant, they said, to call myself that. However, I held on to the nickname for my ICQ and my emails for sometime. Papa always said that positive talk was powerful and would shape your life. What’s wrong with being cute forever?:). Papa’s favourite saying is ,”My daughters are getting more and more beautiful each day.”Amen to all of that!Haha. Therefore, Charismatic? Am I being “perasan”? I think I see it as claiming something for my own life. Claiming the grace, the gifts, the favour, and also character that will be the foundation for greatness. Hello everyone. God bless.
