Charismatic

Bubby is 36 weeks today. His head is mostly engaged now, though he does twist around a little during his afternoon naps. His most active moments are usually around 6-7pm (just before dinner time) and from 11pm-1am. Sigh. I guess his clock isn't too different from his parents.  He is now low enough and big enough to cause some discomfort to the pelvis, which seems to be a common malady at 34+ weeks. according to all the forums I read online. Sitting can be uncomfortable if I slouch even slightly, because the uterus is already up to my lungs. And Bubby likes to wriggle his feet into my ribs when he has an active spell.  4 more weeks before I'm officially due. And I can probably expect Bubby anytime after I hit 38 weeks. Our prayer is that he stays put at least till the 20th of Nov. This is because T has a number of gigs and rehearsals from the 14th-18th of Nov and it would be quite chaotic if I went into labour then. Besides, mom only arrives on the 20th of Nov as well....

The year has sped by quite fast. By Thursday, Bubby Chou (that's what we call him for the moment) will be 30 weeks. So, we're 7 months along... I hesitate to blog whenever I have the urge to because I don't think I organize my thoughts well, but finally, I'm in front of the computer again. It is 1am and I should be asleep. Most people I've met say that sleeping and waking up early during the pregnancy will help the bub get used to regular sleep times, instead of sleeping late and waking up all through the night.  T and I went to Hokkaido for a week and it was a nice baby-moon. Goodness knows when we will be able to have a proper holiday by ourselves again.  T is the best holiday partner one can have. Good tempered, likes to eat (like me), game to try new things, willing to walk around a lot but he's not an energiser bunny on overdrive like one friend I know (yup KX I'm thinking about you. Day 2 in Osaka was actually mildly disappointing. We managed to walk into most of the tourist traps and we didn't have a single meal that really amazed us (sorry, my expectations of Japanese food are pretty high). For starters, we went to try a famous shop beside the fish market in Osaka but it was closed. So we ended up going to the place beside it, which served beautifully presented but rather tasteless sushi. T and I taking a 'couplie' at the train station Then we headed to the Tenjinbashi mall Mochi.  T wanted the thin, grilled kind but we unsuccessfully tried to describe it to the old lady, who couldn't speak a word of English. The 20th of Sept went by quite smoothly. Yep, that was the day of our wedding celebration in Taipei. I might put up a separate post about wedding celebrations in each of my home cities at a later stage (fingers crossed). What I will happily do is share about our belated honeymoon trip to Japan. We stayed in Osaka and travelled around the Kansai area in between, visiting Kyoto and Kobe. It was my first time to Japan and it was T's first time to the Kansai area (he had only been to Tokyo before). I was pretty excited, as Japanese cuisine tops my list. Could not wait to see and try everything in Japan! We arrived in Osaka around 2pm.
