Day 2 in Osaka was actually mildly disappointing. We managed to walk into most of the tourist traps and we didn't have a single meal that really amazed us (sorry, my expectations of Japanese food are pretty high). For starters, we went to try a famous shop beside the fish market in Osaka but it was closed. So we ended up going to the place beside it, which served beautifully presented but rather tasteless sushi.

Then we headed to the Tenjinbashi mall

T wanted the thin, grilled kind but we unsuccessfully tried to describe it to the old lady, who couldn't speak a word of English. So we ended up buying nothing.
This was fun though. The Musuem of Housing and Living.

Osaka Castle wasn't particularly spectacular BUT the view around it was very pleasant.
Night time we headed back to Dotonburi and decided to try the a crab place called Kani Doraku. Unfortunately, it seemed rather touristy and we didn't enjoy the pricy meal much. Again, looked beautiful but lacked taste. Worse, before we headed to crab place, we tried to find takoyaki to snack on. And the first stall we got it from was terrible! Soggy and tasteless! (We were more fortunate the second round)
Dessert was the only saving grace of night. Pablo is an Osaka chain that has the best cheesecakes and cheese biscuits! RM28 or so for a cheesecake is very reasonable and the quality of the cakes are consistent. Then we headed to Alycon, which was a pricey French patiesserie. Their standard caramel cake is the the yummiest thing you could pop into your mouth!
So ends Day 2.
