Repaying old debts

As I am about to launch into a new phase in my life, God has been nudging me gently about old 'debts' I need to repay as reformed Zaccheus.

When I started listening to pop music in high school, I couldn't afford to buy original CD's and I was too afraid to ask my parents for the money. Therefore, I secretly bought a couple of pirated CD's. After my mom found out about it, she told me off and told me to go to her whenever I wanted to get a CD and she would it get it for me if it was a reasonable choice. Since then, I've tried very hard to stay on the narrow path in terms of copyright, buying software or music etc.

I remember one of those pirated CD's was Alicia Keys's first album. It was one of my favourites at that time. Since then, I've bought 2 of her other original albums. Recently God has nudged me to repurchase original CDs of all these artists that I had ripped off in the past. So today, I started. I bought Songs in A Minor. I owe it to her. Next up will probably be Dido. I don't think there are more. Maybe a couple of jazz artists whose stuff I need to get rid off because they are copies.

It's been a long hard journey towards intergrity in these small matters as well as big matters. I've often struggled with the inconvenience of such decisions.

For anyone reading, I encourage you just as people like Alvin used to encourage our lifegroups 5-6 years ago, please get rid of your pirated music and software. In the end, when we face up to God, we won't have any excuses when He asks us about our integrity in even this small area. It might be more expensive and more inconvenient, but even small decisions that are wrong affect the world's depravity in general. Every action is significant.

WOW, i am encouraged that God nudged you in this area of your life! I have been through this some time back in Brissy days. That was went I first joined the Worship Ministry. It was a challenging wiping out all of my illegally downloaded songs, (secular or PW songs). But nonetheless, I just wanna say that I am not ashamed of what I have done and at least I know that I am taking the narrow gate and not the 'convenient road' where the crowds are following! Thanks for joining me, walking this narrow road. whee! love :)

Love Alicia...but....

I've loved Alicia Keys since I was a teenager. She's gorgeous, talented, with an impeccable image of ghetto funkiness plus classy elegance. Love her voice and love her ideas. But....the lyrics....have more often than not been ...disappointing. I do think this article provides accurate critique of her work.

More Faith....in a GOOD GOD

Today, Miss '爆炸头' - a.k.a Winnie, a chick with a HUGE afro-ish Scary Spice hair-do prayed for me. She doesn't know me, but turned around after service and offered to pray for me. A few things came up during the prayer. She didn't specifically prophesy. But the way she was praying, she was getting stuff from the Spirit. She prayed Prov 4:18 ( The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day)  over me, for some time, stating that God would lead me, and the path would become brighter and brighter, clearer and clearer. I was to have faith. More faith that God would lead me safely and surely. She also stated the need to seek God even more through prayer for his presence and guidance (guilty. It's been difficult to be disciplined about prayer). She prayed and declared that my work would be the platform for many good things God wanted to do through me. The work and the position I had in my work was important, she...
