Been blessed by Andy the Stanley: Leading in uncertain times

Leading in uncertain times

When things are uncertain, the safest place for leaders retreat is to the original vision/ idea/mission. That is the safest place to go.

  • Retreat back to the original call from God. Look back on how far we have come, and remember God's provision throughout the years.
  • In the beginning there was only an idea. Things were even more uncertain.
  • It can discouraging to only look froward to uncertainty and need [money that needs to be raised, people that need to be met]. Look back in gratitude once in a while and see how far you've come.
Plans change. Vision remains the same.

  • It is so easy to be enamoured by our plans. But plans are not the vision.
  • Abandon bad plans, even abandon good plans if circumstances change. But do not abandon the vision
  • It's really dangerous to attach God's name to your plans
  • Die on the hill of your vision and calling. But not your plans.
  • Be FLEXIBLE FLEXIBLE FLEXIBLE!
