"You know that prophetic word you gave me about the water tank? It changed my life"
"Huh? Which one? Water tank? What did I say again" (I only vaguely remembered)
"Aiyo! It's a word that changed my life! A turning point in my life and you don't remember?"
"Woops. It has been a long time! But I remember it was at an evax coordinator prophetic word presbytery"
"Yes! You said that I was giving out of half-empty and many pipes were connected to me. And I was running dry. You said I needed to be filled to overflowing by God to give out to people. I didn't tell the team then, but I was burning out. That word changed my life. That's when we started to move into the prophetic and healing and my whole traveling ministry came from there"
"Oh wow~praise God!"
Just conversation at dinner today.... because Peter dropped by today! Peter Truong, my old mentor. One of the most important people that featured in my spiritual walk. To be honest, he's always been a bit of an oddball, and he still is. But God picked him to be one of the key people in life.
Peter was a pioneer of the evangelism club (E-club). From him, we developed new vocab and slogans, like 'evax', 'the Kingdom of God is ADVANCING' etc. Why is this important? Well, because the first time I ever heard God speak to me with unmistakable clarity when I was 18, He told me to 'join E-club'. This was when Peter was visiting Adelaide and training Hope Adelaide in evangelism. Those were the starting days of E-club. I participated actively in the outreach projects of Hope Adelaide, but only became an official evangelism coordinator when I moved to Brisbane. For 4 years, I was actively serving in the ministry, and was personally involved in leading a good number of people to the Lord. I saw many people trained up and equipped in the area of evangelism. E-club also gave us the opportunity to move actively in the prophetic and in healing. I was more involved in the prophetic side. I remember wonderful meetings when the coordinators would meet together and seek to hear God's voice. The words the came forth for many people were encouraging, challenging and for most part, almost stunningly to-the-point/accurate. That training is one of the reasons I have the courage to share impressions and words to different strangers in church (our church is huge, therefore 95% of people are strangers to me). Or participate in "talking to the new visitors" ministry.
Peter has been traveling all around the world, still faithfully ministering in the area of healing and evangelism. It is been a hard and tough road of faith, but God is still leading him into more things. Peter said today, "I've always felt you and I are a bit similar...we might have different focus in our ministries, but God has led us to cross paths for a reason. We both step out and do the 'pioneering' and the 'unknown' thing".
I took him to a night market, and after some catch up over dinner and dessert, we prayed for each other. and gave each other words.
Peter: Charis, I see you pushing a bale of hay up a mountain. It's tough. It's hard work. It's uphill and it's a slog. You're pushing and pushing. God is saying, don't give up. Keep pushing. You will get to the top of the mountain. And when you get to the other side of the mountain, the bale of hay will roll all by itself downhill. It will gather momentum and roll and roll. It will get much easier and things will start running by themselves. God is saying, you are not that far away. You have been working hard. Keep pushing until you reach the other side.
I was 'amen-ing' through the whole thing. Rach had given me similar words last year, and it was haert-warming to hear God exhort me to not give up.
Charis: I see a bunch of keys. God wants to give you the keys to greater things... the keys to the Kingdom. One by one, He will hand them to you and they will open up different doors. He is bringing you higher, deeper and further. A breakthrough, a different level of gifting, anointing and experience.
Then an amazing thing happened. Peter looked up and he told me while he was praying during New Year's eve, he opened his mobile phone bible (which he usually never does because he does not own a smartphone). The first verse he saw was Matt 16:19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven" and he felt God was speaking to him. And now he flies here to Taiwan for a conference, and meets with me, and I give him the same word. He was very encouraged and he concluded by stating that this was a year of favour (year of Jubilee for Malaysia), and he prayed that I would have divine favour everywhere I turned.
I haven't been so encouraged and refreshed for a while. Thank God for his precious words and for the people he puts in our lives. I'll finish a post about the tour and EP soon.
