Random weekday in a life of muso parents

- Wake up 8.15am in the morning and make sure LO gets up, pees and gets dressed. Time to take him to pre-school. It takes him at least 5 minutes to put on his socks and shoes by himself. It's raining so we drive him to school, otherwise we walk 5-10 minutes.
- Check basic emails. Post pics of the day on IG/FB accounts. Snooze for a while longer to catch up on sleep.
- Breakfast time. Make eggs for hubby and I, or make yoghurt bowl with nuts and fruit for myself. Hubby makes his hand-poured coffee.
- 30 min devotional time with passage of the day, which may lead to the occasional intercessory time which will stretch out to an hour.
 - Work time. Start opening up music files that need to be finished, read work emails and check to-do lists. Start work on the most pressing project. Reply to a bunch of messages concerning available dates and upcoming rehearsals.
 - Pop first load of laundry into the washing machine.
 - 12.30pm. Order lunch for 2 on ubereats or skip outside for a quick lunch. (If we are out, we pay the latest bills at 711, do our banking,  pick up LO's milk and organic soy milk etc). Get home and pop clothes in dryer.
 - 1.30pm - 5.30 pm: as much solid work as possible, with a focus on arranging, sound recording or Youtube video-shoots. These tasks require silence and absolute concentration (short tea break at 3.30pm. Get clothes from dyer. Prep veggies for dinner).
- 5.30-6pm. Workout. Listen to a sermon while working out.
- 6pm pick up LO. Let him run around a school field/park for half an hour. Get home and give him a little snack.
- Cook dinner. Eat at 7pm. Wash dishes.
- Bath time for little one. Blow dry hair, dress him.
- Vacuum. Wipe down tables etc. Have our own showers.
- Keep working for another hour while LO plays with duplo or watches a cartoon. Usually tasks that don't require absolute silence like post -production tuning, mixing, or chart writing.
- Fold laundry while watching a chill Netflix documentary.
- Go through alphabet or book with LO.
- Beditme routine for LO. Bible reading, prayer, and then the wrestle to get him to shut his eyes. Can take an hour.
- Work for another hour. Chill with a couple of youtube vids or book reading.
- Sleep

Most days are quite different from each other. If there are rehearsals, we are out from 12-7, or 6-11pm. If there are business meetings, we usually schedule a lunch meeting for 2 hours.

Love Alicia...but....

I've loved Alicia Keys since I was a teenager. She's gorgeous, talented, with an impeccable image of ghetto funkiness plus classy elegance. Love her voice and love her ideas. But....the lyrics....have more often than not been ...disappointing. I do think this article provides accurate critique of her work.

More Faith....in a GOOD GOD

Today, Miss '爆炸头' - a.k.a Winnie, a chick with a HUGE afro-ish Scary Spice hair-do prayed for me. She doesn't know me, but turned around after service and offered to pray for me. A few things came up during the prayer. She didn't specifically prophesy. But the way she was praying, she was getting stuff from the Spirit. She prayed Prov 4:18 ( The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day)  over me, for some time, stating that God would lead me, and the path would become brighter and brighter, clearer and clearer. I was to have faith. More faith that God would lead me safely and surely. She also stated the need to seek God even more through prayer for his presence and guidance (guilty. It's been difficult to be disciplined about prayer). She prayed and declared that my work would be the platform for many good things God wanted to do through me. The work and the position I had in my work was important, she...
