Ask...

Throughout,God has always been so specific in asking about our desires. To the various blind men, he asked, "What do you want?" and He also said, "May it be done to you according your faith". I feel like God has been really probing me about my desires. What are my true desires? Do I really want what I seem to want? Do I trully have a passionate desire for Him and for His plans? Do I have a desire for my so called dreams or are they just nice dreams? Today, God spoke to me through Greg. Greg's special. He's been in our group for 1.5 years and he only accepted Christ not too long ago. He made the decision with full conviction that he wanted to worship this of his Saviour, Jesus Christ. I was so happy when he finally came out to alter call and knelt on his knees, ready to give his life to Christ. Greg is intense. He has the most intense stare in the whole world. He's a quiet man of steel. He's a bit of a perfectionist and quite focused.Yet intensely ...

What is it you really want?

The Saffron girls are moving. We are moving just across the road. So, we will still be Saffron girls. Yea. This time Jessica will join us. The house across the road is quite nice. Here is our testimony: Our owner told us that she would be moving in and therefore, we needed to move out in a couple of weeks. I felt tired of moving and even contemplated buying a house. After praying as a family, we decided against it. So, my housemates and I started the whole 'wonderful' process of house-hunting. Hours on the internet. Phone calls. Inspections. This time, I was less stressed than last year. I felt like I had grown a lot in emotional capacity. The house across the road was available at the right time. Immediately, we were the first to inspect the house and apply for it. My housemates were so keen on the house they started a bunch of impromptu prayer meetings to claim it. I was thinking that if we had to move, that would be our best option. During a lifegroup at Eureka, 2 weeks ag...

Thanks ...

Thanks Nat, Ravi, Kevin and Rach. Your fellowship and encouragement have been so vital to me at this interesting, uncertain time. All the breakfasts, the dinners, the teas, the chats, the late nights, the drives, the laughs, the sermons, the exchange of ideas. Thank you and God bless you richly always. PS: And please, hehe, you guys eat more than me! You're just using me as a cover up

Letting go

On one hand, there is security On the other, uncertainty That is, if one sees with natural eyes On one hand, the lure of friendship beckons On the other, hostilities and double-faces That is, if one sees with natural eyes When one uses lenses of faith, things turn around somehow. When I know I belong to God, the safety and security is promised, the end is determined by Him, the one who is all knowing, all wise and all loving. Help me trust You Lord.

Pursuit of Happiness

Ever felt displaced and you didn't quite belong anywhere? I have. I can only remember all the time, I belong to God and He has repeated that many a time through different people. Ever felt scared stiff to pursue your dreams wholeheartedly because if you fail, you wonder if you have anything left. I have. I can only trust that the Lord will carry me through. And that if all fails, I still belong to God.

Brissy thoughts

I've been back for a week now. I've also been back to work for a week. Same old same old. It's nice to poking some dollars into my slim purse again. Don't feel like I'm so broke. But my focus is different now. 1000 gazillion things rushing through my mind. It's nice to be back in OZ land. I don't wake up sniffling and blowing my nose every minute. I dove into Pinelands for sushi on the very first evening back. Ah... bliss. My palate loved every minute of the Himawari and Spider rolls and sashimi. Good to see all the familiar faces in church and lifegroup. Had good fat chats with Peggy, Nat, Rach...Fact: It's hard for me to ever leave Brisbane because all the true and spiritually edifiying friendships I have are mainly here. I've spent most of my adult life here up till now. I wonder how I will cope if I did leave for good. Feel uprooted and floating again? I absolutely hate the feeling of not belonging. Been trying to discover my inner freedom an...

Replying to the tape recorder

My dear friend Jocelyn just blogged about the impact of negative thoughts on our minds here . I've had my own fair share of struggles in this area. But I struggle with negative thoughts regarding my identity and security. Ever since I was a teen, I've been bombarded with thoughts like, "DOES anyone really like you for who you are?" "You're lousy. No one really cares about you","People will only love you for a little while. No one's love can last forever". "You're too much too handle. No one wants to be your friend for long". "You're insignificant",'You're a failure and you don't work hard enough". It didn't help that I've been involved in friendships and romantic relationships that reinforce these thoughts again and again. Because many didin't last. It's my struggle up till now. Many times, Ps Lai Ling, Belle and others have prayed to break the negative thoughts, to destroy the r...
