THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I SERIOUSLY HATE BEING ON A BUDGET! I HATE TRYING TO SAVE AND COUNT EVERY CENT WHEN I NEED TO FLY IN AND OUT! I HATE LIVING IN A PROVINCIAL CITY WHERE THE FLIGHTS TO AND FROM THE CAPITAL ARE SO INCONVENIENT AND INFREQUENT! RAGE!

Here it is!  Joshua and Wee Liem did a lovely job with the filming and editing. 

I chanced upon this status of an acquaintance and a fan of mine. She seems to have some interesting writing skills that seem to wax poetic. When I read her review of my cover, I was very touched that someone took so much effort to appreciate the work that goes into getting a musically creative video cover out into the world.  Unless you're a youtube star, putting up a video does not earn us anything. Most of the time, it has cost me money to pay videographers who help out goodwill fees, not to mention the time that goes into recording, thinking of good songs to rearrange, post production of audio and video, etc.  If you can read Chinese, I copied pasted the review below the screenshot of her status. 模特 Model It's been a while since I've done a just-me-and-keys cover. This time, I decided to cover a song by this year's Golden Melody Award's Best New Artist, Li Rong Hao (李榮浩). He's from Mainland China, and honestly, he's not much to look at nor does he have much stage presence or charisma at the moment. But apparently he has been in the industry for a long time, writing songs and doing some production stuff behind the scenes. He's a multi instrumentalist (albeit not seemingly specialised in his skills), and he wrote, arranged and produced most of his first originals album that was released last year.  Some of his songs are quite well written, though they sound like they are written by an instrumentalist more than a vocalist (there is a lot of motif repetition and not a lot of room for breathing). One of those odd moments. I'm halfway through a shower. My hair is doused with 'hair mask' and bunched up in a shower cap. My thrice-coloured hair ends need definitely some regular TLC. My face has some decongestant mask on. I'm listening to a bunch of songs form the 80's. Not my favourite era (full of cheesy synths and an overkill of reverb effects), but there are some good songs in the list.  Preparing for DT's wedding. Yup, my 'boss' is getting married and I have the privilege to be part of the wedding band as the wedding singer. A belated post. But my first trip to America is surely worth blogging about. Most people are surprised that I've never been to the States up till now. Well, I guess I can cross off my 3rd continent now. Europe, Africa, South America etc will have to wait.  We had a uneventful, albeit slightly bumpy flight to LA. I was doing my best to follow the advice of beauty program gurus (namely, cleanse and moisturise face,neck and arms every 3-4 hours in a long haul flight), so I was armed with a cleanser, toner and 2 masks. It was very dry on the Eva Air flight, and I hate sitting for long periods of time. So it was great to walk around for a bit when I needed to use the washroom to cleanse and moisturise.  Got to LA and queued up for the LONGEST time at immigration. The Asian officer was VERY unfriendly. But I expected nothing more from the infamous American border officials.
