Almost 30 weeks

The year has sped by quite fast. By Thursday, Bubby Chou (that's what we call him for the moment) will be 30 weeks. So, we're 7 months along... I hesitate to blog whenever I have the urge to because I don't think I organize my thoughts well, but finally, I'm in front of the computer again. It is 1am and I should be asleep. Most people I've met say that sleeping and waking up early during the pregnancy will help the bub get used to regular sleep times, instead of sleeping late and waking up all through the night.  T and I went to Hokkaido for a week and it was a nice baby-moon. Goodness knows when we will be able to have a proper holiday by ourselves again.  T is the best holiday partner one can have. Good tempered, likes to eat (like me), game to try new things, willing to walk around a lot but he's not an energiser bunny on overdrive like one friend I know (yup KX I'm thinking about you. Whenever I"m sight seeing with KX I always feel like I...

Redefining success - Candice Johnson

Good to reminded of these simple principles of godly success. BEING SUCCESSFUL IS: 1. Loving well - First and second commandment: Loving God and loving people. If we don't get this right, we have missed the point of our lives. Application: Am I loving the people around me well. 2. Partnering with truth Application: Destroying false mental strongholds. Taking captive every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. Not agreeing with any subtle lie or conforming to culture. Remembering: God does not speak in fear. 3. Giving what I have Application: Who He is and what He has done inside of us is meant to be given away. Freely we have received, freely give.  4. Doing my best (not someone's best) Application: Not everyone is created the same.  We were never meant to do the same things. We don't the same capabilities, experiences and background. Do the best that I can do. Not someone else's best.  5. Faithful with what I've been given Appl...

Money Vs...what?

There's been so much and so little going on at the same time. I'm not going to elaborate too much while I'm feeling so frustrated. But it's been about 3 months of many questions, tears and mounting insecurities. Enough to drive someone like me mad.  The straw that snapped my camel's back of spiel of non-blogging was dealing with our current apartment. Perhaps I've been spoilt by living in hotels so often this past 2 years because of touring. But I really do appreciate the break from the dreariness of living in Taipei City with limited funds for so many years. Often, I feel so ashamed of myself for being so 'soft'. Becasue T seems to deal with any kind of living condition and temperature without complaining. I don't complain out loud much because it's pointless, but there's plenty raging on inside. And it's all made worse by the fact that we're expecting a kid. So many things that I can deal with as lone adult are now overwhelming...

Lovingly Fearlessly & Decisively

2015. Will I be able to live it out lovingly, fearlessly and decisively? I have opted to blog less and less the last 2 years because my brain has been exhausted with trying to process my thoughts and feelings. Every time I write something, I immediately feel like deleting it because other thoughts already clamour for attention in my mind, making everything on the screen irrelevant. But for once, I want to just have a random spiel. Hopefully, I won't delete this. I'm listening to Tendayi's old tune, 'Quiet'. 'If I were to become a failure in my own eyes, still You'd want me' Meditating on it but for once, it does not cut me to the heart and that is a GOOD thing. Why? Well, I think 2014 has taken some of the fear of failure out of my life. Just not pursuing too many musical goals in 2014 has allowed me to be in an emotional state that is relatively stable. However, I think God's gentle voice is judging me towards picking everything up again in 2...

Osaka Day 2: Tenjinbashi, Musuem of housing and living, Osaka Castle, Kani Doraku, Alycon, Pablo

Day 2 in Osaka was actually mildly disappointing. We managed to walk into most of the tourist traps and we didn't have a single meal that really amazed us (sorry, my expectations of Japanese food are pretty high). For starters, we went to try a famous shop beside the fish market in Osaka but it was closed. So we ended up going to the place beside it, which served beautifully presented but rather tasteless sushi. T and I taking a 'couplie' at the train station Then we headed to the Tenjinbashi mall Mochi.  T wanted the thin, grilled kind but we unsuccessfully tried to describe it to the old lady, who couldn't speak a word of English. So we ended up buying nothing. This was fun though. The Musuem of Housing and Living. Kimonos for cheap hire, 30 mins at a time.  T looks like a wax statue. Nice Japanese locals who offered to take photos for us Wax Statue again!  Antique furni...

OSAKA : Day 1

The 20th of Sept went by quite smoothly. Yep, that was the day of our wedding celebration in Taipei. I might put up a separate post about wedding celebrations in each of my home cities at a later stage (fingers crossed). What I will happily do is share about our belated honeymoon trip to Japan. We stayed in Osaka and travelled around the Kansai area in between, visiting Kyoto and Kobe. It was my first time to Japan and it was T's first time to the Kansai area (he had only been to Tokyo before). I was pretty excited, as Japanese cuisine tops my list. Could not wait to see and try everything in Japan! We arrived in Osaka around 2pm. Osaka is an hour ahead of Taipei (and I only found that out after realising the time on my watch lagged behind my  iPhone. Ha. Fail…). We took the airport limousine bus to the city, which pretty much landed us at Namba Station, where our hotel was situated.  Here are some snippets of Day 1! After leaving out luggage at the hotel,we s...
